Founder, Bob Mathews was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii where his father was the owner of two Mexican Restaurants and World Gym Waikiki. Given this, Bob was exposed to business development, the Hispanic community, and fitness from a very early age. Since relocating to Phoenix in 1992, he made his mark in training senator Barry Goldwater to starting a fitness studio (Power1k) in Central Phoenix, which includes a roster of devoted clients consisting of City Council Members, State Legislators, lobbyist, and business owners. He is a passionate entrepreneur and fitness enthusiast that believes in creating positive change in the community. He founded P1Kids in 2013 as a culturally competent after-school health education and wellnness program designed to impact youth and their families. Bob is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and control of the company's community activities in order to realize optimum results

Kristal Mathews is from the very Phoenix neighborhoods where P1Kids succeeds with its health and wellness programs. Kristal started learning the ropes at P1Kids as an office support staffer in 2013. Knowing the business from the ground up, she transitioned into developing partnerships with dozens of local schools which would in turn affect thousands of 4th- and 5th-graders over the years. In 2015 Kristal was promoted to Chief of Staff, overseeing all aspects of P1Kids administrative, financial and personnel matters. Kristal works with both Spanish- and English-speaking program participants. While a student at Carl Hayden High School, Kristal played basketball, softball, volleyball and competed in track and field and cross country. She once nailed eight three-pointers in a row vs city rival South Mountain and hit a famous inside-the-park homerun during a heated varsity softball contest. Outside of P1Kids Kristal hits the hiking trails and runs 5k marathons.
